THE CAPITOL HOTEL, Hartford – Your ideal downtown stay

I couldn't have asked for a better location; right next to the park and Capitol. Although the room I received was not what I requested, it was decent for a rehearsal dinner. The service was impressive, offering all the essentials I'd expect in a hotel room. Dining during these times was really good, but the limited choices were served in a cold lobby.

The hotel had a rough start with very noisy and loud rooms that weren't soundproof, making it challenging for my son to sleep alone in an unfamiliar environment, plus allowing smoking in designated non-smoking rooms was puzzling. On the bright side, the service was exceptional, and the staff were friendly and professional. The location was perfect for those interested in local bars and restaurants but a miss due to the undisclosed pricey parking. Dining options were limited, served cold, and not exactly on time, lacking a proper dining space. Overall, a mixed experience with some highs and lows.

My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms were cozy, with a fantastic view of the capitol building, and the staff was incredibly helpful. However, the lack of parking and the hit my car took were definitely downsides. The location was superb, right across from the state capitol and Union Station, making it convenient for exploring downtown Hartford. The dining experience was good to start the day, but the continental breakfast was not the best. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few hiccups.
